I will probably drive everyone crazy with ham recipes for a few weeks but we haven’t had ham here in over 2 years so I am really enjoying this.
I made great white northern beans in my crockpot for Mike and managed to grab 2 cups of them without the broth of this recipe. The recipe makes such a large pot of soup that beans barely raise the carb count. It also adds protein which is always a plus. I hope that you enjoy it.

Ham and Bean Soup
- 3 Tablespoons minced dried onions
- 3 carrots, peeled and finally chopped
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups of cooked cubed ham
- 44 ounces chicken broth
- 2 cubes chicken bouillon
- 2 cups great white northern beans, cooked
- 1 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
- tabasco sauce to taste
In large pot add dried onions, carrots, garlic, salt, pepper, chicken broth, bouillon, and tomatoes. Cook until carrots are tender. Add ham and beans and heat for another 5 minutes to blend flavors. Add tabasco and serve. Serves 8

I never had the great white northern bean until the year I went LoCarb.
Now, not so much. But it looks great!
