Sweet-N-Tangy BBQ Sauce

This was pretty good. I ate it with grilled hamburgers. Mike said it was good too but he prefers the Red Pepper Sauce. I have to admit that I do too but if you are really wanting BBQ chicken or ribs this will fit the bill for that. πŸ™‚

Sweet-N-Tangy BBQ Sauce

  • 3 Tablespoons dried onion
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 can (6-ounce) tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup sugar twin brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Splenda
  • 2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

In a saucepan combine all ingredients and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and serve. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

  1. Another awesome looking recipe!

  2. *Thinking out loud*…some liquid smoke for a hickory flave. Oh…my.

Thank you. This sounds like another keeper.

  3. Have you tried to freeze this? I wonder if that would work out?
