Forget Roses. I Want A Side of Beef.

I see women get all mushy about receiving roses. While they are pretty and smell nice they aren’t all that too me. They aren’t practical and they don’t last a long time.  On the other hand a side beef can feed your family for a very long time and is almost as expensive. hahaha

  1. I’m the same way, I tell my husband if he wants to get me flowers it has to be a plant so I plant it in my garden and enjoy it longer than a week. But I might ask him to get some nice steaks for Mother’s Day…LOL

    Happy Mother’s Day 🙂

    • Oh that is a nice idea. Perhaps some blackberry bushes to plant on the farm would be nice. 🙂

  2. AMEN to that! 🙂 I am so practical that one of my favorite birthday gifts ever was a new vacuum cleaner that I needed – lol! A side of beef sounds like the perfect gift.

  3. heehee good idea!

    • Yep. Although I have been told that you should corn feed a cow for a month before slaughter or it will taste grassy. Not sure on that though.

  4. I’m extending an invitation to you to come to the opening of the Putnam Farmers’ Market Thursday, May 19 at its new location at Hurricane Park, next to the water reservoir on Rt. 34. We have some new vendors and exciting activities planned for this year.

    • I plan to drive by at least and see what the parking situation is. I will have my grandson with me so if it looks dangerous due to the one lane bridge and all I won’t be able to stop. I would hate to have to give up my farmer’s market. 😦 I really love the farmer’s market but I can’t risk Caleb’s safety. I can’t quite picture how it is going to work out.

  5. That made me LOL’d because it is soooo true!
