While I was at my daughter’s last week I made this recipe and we all loved it. Mike, who is my picky eater had 4 servings of this the first night. Of course he picked out the portabella mushrooms but he loved the sauce and the meatballs.
I used fresh ground sausage and ground beef that we bought from a local farm and it was very fresh. The recipe didn’t call specifically for portabella mushrooms but that is what I chose to use. I also did not add the xanthum gum to the recipe and didn’t feel that I needed it.
